The blog shows some of the features of the Nao robot including (talking, walking,interacting with humans as well as other robots, recognizing objects etc). The video's that i saw were very optomistic by showing all of the details of the robot for advertisement purposes.  the makers of the video were aldebaran-robotics. The video

The definition of artificial intellegence is the study of creating technology systems that will be able to perfrom tasks that usually require human intelligence on its own. (Herzfeld, Noreen, Artificial Intelligence.2005.p510)

According to the encyclopida definition of artificial intelligence the Nao robot is artificially intelligent because the robot is able to perform tasks with out the help of a human such as walking, talking, and interacting with otehr robots. The Nao robot thinks like humans in some ways they dont think exactly like human yet but they will in the future. The Nao robots dont have artificial emotions yet but itis very important for the robots to have artificial intelligence because they will serve more use.
 
        The Video of the Nao robot is more of an advertisement showing what the Nao robot is capable of doing but the written technical decription provides the reader specific information about the the robot, it tells you what the Nao robot is cabable of doing and why  for ex. "Vision is one of the most important capabilities in the human-robot interaction. A strong vision capabilty will allow the robot to see the orient towards objects, to walk to them, grasp them and bring them to the user" (Cooperative Human Robot Interaction with the Nao Humanoid. p.2)The technical description also presents all of the details of the parts inside of the Nao robot "More specifcally, the Nao is equipped with the following: CPU: x86 AMD Geode with 500 MHz, Memory: 256 SDRAM and 1 Gb Flash memory, WiFi (802.11g) and Ethernet, 2 x 640x480 camera with up to 30 frames per second"(Cooperativr Human Robot Interaction with the Nao Humanoid.p.2) with information like this the reader knows exactly what is in the robot and how it opperartes. The advantage that the video has is that it will be very appealing to the audience when it demonstrates what the robot is capable of which will atrract alot of people, but the technical decription provides alot of information that the audience may be curious about

Blog Assignment #3

My professional blog is addressing the traffic safety violations that need to be improved around LaGuardia Community College Campus. The main reason why I chose this scenario is because it has is putting people in dangerous situations, after the accident that occurred last month something has to be done to ensure peoples safety. I came up with a few solutions that I feel will make a change in this situation by having traffic agents placed on more streets around the school. The agents would be able to regulate when they pedestrians should stop and go as well as the cars. I researched on Google for a couple of things such as the price range of getting new red light cameras being installed and also more information about the car accident that happened last month.my revising process is a little different I read my paper over twice make corrections and write it over again. The Technical writing assignments different from any other kind of writing, when writing a memo you notice that it is more  for business purposes  because you are acknowledging the problems in a situation and presenting actions that need to be taken in order for the situation to be improved.

CIVIL ENGINEERING BLOG

The blog article was that I read was going over some of the step by step procedures that are taking place when engineers are constructing a building. The author's position in the blog was informing people about some of the steps that go on during a job. "As a site engineer, in a construction porject of high rise buidlings, you carry a lot of responsibility to finish the project in time and with cent percent accuracy." The thesis that the author uses is very true because there when disigning or constucting a high rise building the engineers have to be 100 % accurate with all of there calculations before anything can begin to get done, and most likely there will will be a scedule that they will have to follow to get their project finished inn a certain time. There isn't any new technology or new discovery discribed in this blog, but it does talk about brick work and casting which has been around for a significant amount of time but is always improving in better ways every year. This article does give you an aspect of a working engineer by giving a step by step understanding of what is done during brick work and casting. Every blogger serves a different purpose and have their own reasons behind why they are blogging, After going over this blogging article I think that the author spends time blogging to imform poeple that are studying to be engineerings on some tips about what they will have to do. I honestly don't think that this blog was that professional but it still would be able to help others with information if they persue a career in civil engineering.

Welcome to my blog

Hey Guys, My name is Jamal Lewis and this is my first blog for the eng 259 technical writing class. My educational and careers goals are to first graduate from college with a masters degree in civil engineering/business and finance. I plan on following in my fathers footsteps in becoming an entrepreneur and using my degree to work for my self by opening my own businesses. I'm not majoring in computer science but that was always one thing that I was interested in. I don't believe that a lot of other students at LaGuardia have the same relationship with technology as I do because I believe all people use technology in different ways to benefit themselves for example I plan on using technology for real estate business purposes. I do enjoy reading and writing because it helps me to become more intelligent, each day of my life I try to learn something new because it would only help me to become more successful in life. I like to read the Forbes Magazine,Real Estate articles,Articles on entrepreneurs, religious books, and the bible as well. I write notes in my phone every so often, texting,letters,and receipts.
